Planting Beds & Garden Beds
Whether you are planting flowers, vegetables, or herbs for your spice rack, a well-designed garden bed is a great way to keep your planting neat and organized. Garden beds not only look great in any yard but also provide easy access to your plants without stepping in them. At Linden Leaf Landscapes in Fort Collins, CO, we are pleased to offer a variety of planter bed installment options to our clients. Here are just a few of the different types of garden beds we can design and install.
In-Ground Garden Beds
In ground garden beds use the existing soil in the ground along with compost and natural fertilizers to create a new space for plants to grow. Most in-ground beds will have some sort of retaining border around them but will more or less be level with the ground. In-ground planter beds are great for their simplicity and they do not require much additional soil provided that the native soil is suitable for growing plants.
Walkebb
“Linden helped me create the garden of my dreams! I went from a few small boxes to 2 huge boxes where I grow way too many vegetables every year. I’ve had the opportunity to work with Linden Leaf in the past as well, and have always been very impressed with Linden’s integrity and genuine interest in making outdoor spaces beautiful and functional. Can’t recommend highly enough!”
Rasied Garden Beds
Raised garden beds are also dug into the existing soil beneath them but they typicaly have taller borders or edges around them to make them more prominant and defined or just make them higher up off the ground. A raised planter bed can be made with borders from wood, rock, stone or other solid materials to keep the soil inside. Riased beds are great for clients who have trouble bending down or who just want an overal more accesible garden space.
Container Beds
Container beds are just what they sound like. A planter bed that is within an existing containerr that has a bottom. Container beds are great for areas with limited space or where there is not suitable soil for digging a bed directly into the ground. Container beds are good option for people who have a concrete or asphalt space but would still enjoy having a garden.
Vertical Plant Walls
Another creative option for when space is limited is an upright planter wall. Vertical planter walls allow you to grow flowers, herbs, and other plants in an easy-to-maintain space that can also serve as a privacy wall or other boundary.
